What are prepaid shipping labels?
Prepaid shipping labels are postage labels for which the shipping cost has already been paid before the package is sent. This means the sender pays for the postage upfront, typically through an online platform, and then prints out the label to attach to their package.
How prepaid shipping labels work at Dreamship?
General process for orders with prepaid shipping label will look like this:
Step 1: Merchants buy prepaid shipping labels from marketplaces with correct ship-from address and package dimension
Step 2: Labels to be attached in Dreamship order.
Step 3: Our vendors will print the attached labels, attach them on the packages and hand over the packages to the carrier

Requirements when using the service:
- Merchant must buy shipping labels with correct ship-from zip code and package dimension
- Ship-from zip code: Dreamship Catalog: ship from zip code
- Package dimension: Dreamship Catalog: Shipping Weights & Dimensions
- Shipping label should be sent in PDF format
- One label per item type
- If two items are added to an order such as a White Mug and an Accent Mug, each item needs its shipping label.
- If two whites mugs are added to an order, one shipping label with the dimensions using two mugs is to be used.
- Use the denominated carrier for each item
How to request this service for your order?
Order created manually on Dreamship app
Step 1: On Dreamship dashboard page, click on Orders >> All Orders
Step 2: Click on "Create Order" in the top right corner.
Step 3: A new order ID and order interface will be generated.
Step 4: Add an existing product or create a new product, following steps detailed HERE
Step 5: Upload the shipping label and choose shipping carrier
Step 6: Input address and choose “prepaid” as shipping method
Step 7: (optional) Edit Reference ID in the "Source" section.
Step 8: Submit Order (top right corner).
Order submitted via API from your backend store or marketplaces
Input shipping_label_carrier and shipping_label_url and set shipping method as Prepaid for each order with prepaid label
The order will be rejected if the shipping_label_carrier is set for an item that does not have the prepaid shipping label service available.

Set shipping_label_carrier and shipping_label_url for each line item requested for this service and that has the prepaid label service available. The shipping method of these orders should be set as prepaid

How much does this service cost?
The cost for prepaid shipping label service is $0.75 per item

- Using wrong dimensions: lower weight or lower package dimensions
- Using the wrong carrier
- Using the same label for an order with two different items
This can result in:
- Order stuck in pre-transit, never picked up by the carrier, or never en route
- Additional cost to pay at reception by the end customer to retrieve the package
- Only one item shipped from a multi-item order
Dreamship is not responsible for any delivery issues happening with the Prepaid shipping method and will not contact carriers to resolve the issue. Dreamship will not refund product costs in the event of a delivery issue.
