Integrating Shopify with Dreamship may present certain challenges. Below are common issues encountered and solutions: Failed product publishing to Shopify If you’re unable to push products from Dreamship to Shopify: Variant Limitations: The store
Integrating Shopify with Dreamship is easy but may present certain challenges. Below are common issues encountered and solutions:
Failed product publishing to Shopify
If you’re unable to push products from Dreamship to Shopify, please check
- Variant Limitations: The store may hit Shopify's daily variant creation limit (Shopify only allows up to 1,000 new variants to be created per day on standard plans)
A notification pops up when the order is rejected by limiting variants inside the Dreamship app as below:
(You can check the reason for the failed publish by hovering over the warning icon in the Shops section)
To fix this, you can:
- Upgrade to a higher Shopify plan, which increases the daily variant limit.
- Or, wait until the next day when the limit resets.
- Check store availability: Ensure your Shopify store is active and not in a trial period that has expired.
To check store status, log into your Shopify account/Dreamship account to verify if it is active or not (Inside the Dreamship dashboard > navigate to Shops section > check your store’s status)
Orders Not Syncing to Dreamship
If you've connected your Shopify store to Dreamship but orders aren't appearing, there are a few things to check:
- Enable Auto Import Orders: Make sure to turn on "Auto Import Orders with Dreamship Products" and “Auto Import Orders with Non-Dreamship Products”
- Fulfillment location: You must set the fulfillment location and request fulfillment to Dreamship in Shopify for orders to sync through
- Set Product Location to Dreamship
- Request fulfillment inside the Order page on Shopify
See more details on How to set up your Shopify Integration
Note: Only orders created after the product location is set to Dreamship will be synced to Dreamship.
Orders created before that will not be synced, sellers can create orders manually, fulfill them with CSV, or duplicate old orders to create new ones.
- Review Order Status: Ensure that orders in Shopify are marked as "Paid" and not archived, as Dreamship typically syncs only active and paid orders.
Tracking Numbers Not Syncing from Dreamship to Shopify
- Enable Sync Fulfillment and Tracking Status: In Dreamship's shop settings, confirm that the "Sync Fulfillment and Tracking Status" option is enabled. This ensures that Dreamship updates Shopify with fulfillment and tracking information.
- “Archived” order status: Tracking information from Dreamship does not appear in the
Shopify order because the order was archived before shipping out (Dreamship uploads the tracking number inside the app)
To check order status, log in to Shopify Admin > Orders > select the Order ID > scroll down to the Timeline section
When an order is archived in Shopify, it is marked as “completed.” Dreamship then stops sending updates (including tracking numbers) to orders that are in this archived state. As a result, even if tracking is generated, it won’t sync unless the order is active.
What you should do to sync correctly:
- Only archive an order after the tracking number has synced or the order has been delivered.
- With archived orders, please manually add the tracking number by: choosing “Unarchive” order > click “Add tracking” > enter the Tracking number and Shipping carrier > Save
- Edit line items in Shopify orders: Tracking numbers in Shopify are linked to Line Items (individual products) rather than the entire order. If a line item is deleted or edited after an order is placed, Shopify may no longer recognize it, preventing tracking from syncing automatically.
To ensure tracking updates correctly:
- Avoid deleting or manually editing line items in Dreamship after the order has been placed and not yet completed.
- If you need to modify an order, make changes in Shopify first before it syncs to Dreamship.
- If an item was removed or changed after syncing, tracking must be manually added in Shopify.
If these steps don’t resolve your issue, reach out to Dreamship’s support team for further assistance.
